We’re nearing the one-month mark since I jumped headfirst into selling on Etsy and eBay. It’s been a wild ride. As of today—September 16th—I’ve made two sales on Etsy and four on eBay. Not exactly setting the world on fire, but we’re getting there.

I’ve been an eBay guy since 2004, so it’s somewhat less surprising that I’ve seen more action there than on Etsy. But don’t get me wrong, my end game isn’t just a couple of sales; I’m gunning for a yearly profit of $150,000 or more. That number isn’t a ceiling; it’s the damn floor.

Hitting that goal involves constant work. This isn’t a 9-to-5; it’s a grind that demands attention, creativity, and endless tweaking. I’ve been burning the candle at both ends with keyword research tools like eRank and Marmalead, drafting new designs, and fine-tuning listings.

And let’s talk about the emotional side of things. It’s tough to not see immediate results. There’s anxiety, even moments of frustration. But the game is long. No one starts at the top. So every day, I keep pushing. Whether it’s refining my online stores or adding new items to my newly minted TikTok Shop, progress is progress.

Speaking of TikTok, my biggest roadblock right now is the camera. I have this irrational fear of being judged, even though I know damn well that this self-imposed limit is holding me back. TikTok’s a goldmine, but the idea of showing my face on camera freaks me out. I’ve also got the hurdle of not having physical products to show since I sell print-on-demand. So, the plan is to invest in some samples to flash in front of the lens.

This hustle is my life now. There are naysayers, sure, but I’ve learned to keep my dreams away from those who don’t dream as big. And yes, in the back of my mind, I always think people are silently judging me. That fear is also what’s holding me back from truly capitalizing on platforms like TikTok. If you’ve conquered this fear, drop your wisdom in the comments. Seriously, I could use the advice.

So here we are—one month in, a handful of sales, but zero regrets. This isn’t some get-rich-quick scheme. I’m not pretending that you can just list products and expect to roll in cash instantly. But I’m far from throwing in the towel; in fact, I’m just getting warmed up.

Stick around to watch me chase that elusive $150,000 profit mark. The journey’s only beginning, and I have a feeling things are about to get interesting.
