Eight days into my print-on-demand venture, the anticipation of that first sale was tangible. To my surprise, it didn’t come from the platform I’d set my sights on. Instead of Etsy, it was eBay that brought that much-awaited notification. Someone had chosen one of my inaugural designs—a design that initially fueled my passion for this venture.

The emotion accompanying that first sale is hard to put into words. It’s more than just a number; it’s validation. It’s proof that out there, someone resonated with my creation. This sale is a beacon of motivation. Knowing that even one person appreciates my designs propels me to push forward with even more vigor.

Interestingly, I had nearly written off eBay. My initial metrics weren’t promising, leading to a halt in adding new products just a day before this sale. Given this unexpected turn, I’m now reevaluating my stance on eBay. Perhaps it’s not about the platform but about the approach. It’s time to refine my strategy, optimize titles with potent keywords, and make my listings more discoverable.

Etsy remains an enigma. While I’ve witnessed a trickle of views, they’ve yet to culminate in a purchase. Several factors could be influencing this, from keyword optimization, thumbnail aesthetics, to the titles themselves. Despite the guidance from my Etsy coach and implementing recommended tweaks, the sales graph remains stagnant. However, armed with 278 views and 265 visits in the last week, there’s data to dissect and lessons to learn.

It’s a learning curve, and this early milestone on eBay has instilled a fresh dose of optimism. The goal now is to dissect what’s working, identify areas of improvement, and above all, continue creating designs that speak to people. Every visit, view, and sale is a step forward, a part of the journey in making my print-on-demand dream a sustainable reality.

Thank you for being a part of this journey with me. Here’s to many more sales, insights, and stories to share. Stay tuned!
