I made another sale, and once again, it’s on eBay. As of today, August 29th, I have yet to secure a sale on Etsy, which is starting to raise a few concerns. With just a couple of days until the two-week mark, the pressure of meeting the oft-quoted timeline for the first Etsy sale is looming over me. As the days pass, I’ve been diligently making adjustments to my listings, reworking keywords, tags, titles, and even tweaking the mock-up photos. Yet, the sales have eluded me.

The statistics reflect views on my listings, and I can see that people are stopping by to check out my shirts and designs. But despite the apparent interest, the sales haven’t materialized. Most of my designs lean towards Halloween and Christmas themes, a fact that’s not lost on me considering the calendar—August 29th. Maybe it’s too early for the Etsy crowd to start purchasing holiday-related shirts and accessories. Perhaps I should hold back the concern until we’re well into the first week of September and gauge the response from there.

On the flip side, the second sale on eBay took me by surprise once again. Grateful for every sale, I hadn’t anticipated such early success, especially when compared to Etsy’s zero sales. While this situation does puzzle me, I can’t ignore the fact that I’ve had a presence on eBay for several years, giving me some insight into its buyer dynamics.

The concern about the Etsy situation lingers, but I’m also telling myself to give it time. Seasons change, and buyers’ habits do too. It’s reasonable to believe that buyers might not be in the holiday spirit just yet, and my optimism urges me to wait a little longer. The designs are there, and they’ll eventually find their way to the right audience.

To address the Etsy challenge, I’ve been tweaking my listings, refining keywords, and pondering whether or not I should delve into Etsy ads. The wait is almost over, as I have just one day left before I can start using Etsy ads. The debate within me rages on—should I invest in creating Etsy ads for my listings? I’ll consider the pricing and evaluate the potential return on investment.

This update is an honest snapshot of my print-on-demand journey. Challenges and uncertainties are a part of any entrepreneurial venture, and I’m committed to navigating through them. I’ll continue crafting new designs and creating listings on both Etsy and eBay, watching closely for signs of progress. Giving up is not an option; I’ve invested significant time and effort into this venture. I’m confident that my dedication will yield results in due course.

So, here’s to perseverance, optimism, and the belief that my hard work will bear fruit. Thank you for joining me on this journey, and until next time, let’s keep the momentum going.
