Making A Murderer Season 2
As you may or may not have heard, Making A Murderer Season 2 may be in the works. I don’t think anybody is surprised by this announcement – But I think there has to be a lot of key developments that happen before a season 2 can be released.
Here is the quote from Laura Ricciardi where people are thinking season 2 is going to be made:
“From our perspective this story is obviously not over,” Ricciardi said. “It’s real life and (Avery and Brendan Dassey’s) cases are both still pending. We have no idea when the magistrate will make a decision in Brendan’s case. We do know that two potential outcomes are that the judge could order Brendan’s release or he could order a new trial. So we are on the edge of seats about that. To the extent that there are significant developments, we would like to continue documenting this (case).”
Maybe season 2 may focus a lot more on Brendan Dassey. They can focus on his upbringing, talk to his family, teachers, friends… and then that’ll lead up to featuring his release or new trial (if granted). I’m only speculating because of Laura’s quote having a lot of focus on Brendan. I wouldn’t mind getting a backstory on Brendan.
Unless there are a lot of details that aren’t known to the general public at this time (Zellner could possibly have some new information/evidence), I don’t think a season 2 is warranted yet. I think it would be showing things that the majority of the viewers already know by doing some research (like reading my blog!)
