You Need To Upgrade Your Cookware to Calphalon Brand!!
Two weeks ago I was cooking pasta sauce in one of my Teflon coated non-stick pots that I’ve had for over 6 years and noticed black specks in the sauce before I even added the herbs and spices. Upon further inspection, I noticed the Teflon was flaking off my pot and going into my sauce (and I’m sure this isn’t the first time it happened but I never noticed).
I dumped my sauce down the drain and threw away that pot and started inspecting the rest of them – low and behold, those were starting to flake off as well. It was time for me to buy new pots, but I wanted to stay away from anything that was coated in Teflon but I also wanted to have non-stick cookware. I whipped out my phone and started Googling and came across the Calphalon brand.
As soon as I went to their website, I fell in love. I started drooling while looking through all of their products. They have a HUGE array of cookware and they’re all beautiful! Seriously, I am not exaggerating!
They have cookware, cutlery, bakeware and all of their pieces are gorgeous. I could go on a shopping spree and stock my kitchen with nothing but Calphalon brand items but my wife would kill me because these items aren’t cheap! The Calphalon brand does come at a premium price and so I had to do my shopping wisely.
I went to Amazon (of course!) and searched for Calphalon and they have a large selection of items (but not as much as the Calphalon website). I wanted to make sure I was going to like the cookware before really investing money into a whole line up. Yes, they’re sexy and gorgeous, but did they cook well and live up to my expectations?
My first Calphalon purchase was a 2.5qt straining saucepan (I think I paid $30). Well, as you guessed, I fell in love with it! I’m not turning back!
The first thing you’ll notice is the weight – they’re heavyweight and they feel very durable. They’re not made from a cheap aluminum; you don’t have to worry about them getting dented up or falling apart.
You’ll then notice that they’re even better looking in person! Even though they are photogenic, the photos don’t do their justice! They’re sleek and just… beautiful… (I think my wife was getting a little jealous at the way I was admiring it and caressing it). I know it’s weird to feel this way about a saucepan but holy hell…
While you’re admiring it, you’ll notice how durable and how well constructed it really is. You don’t have to worry about the handle falling off or becoming loose. They’re made from thick aluminum and have a nice feel to them.
My particular saucepan is hand wash only and I’m ok with that since my frying pans are cast iron and they can only be hand washed as well. But they do make ones that are dishwasher safe, but I think I’d still hand wash them as well.
Slowly but surely I’m going to be adding more and more Calphalon cookware items to my kitchen and I think my next purchase is going to be Calphalon Contemporary Hard-Anodized Aluminum Nonstick Cookware, Sauce Pot, 5-quart, Black and keep going from there.
Like I said, they do have a premium price tag but they are soooo worth it! I wonder if I could get a remote job with them and they can pay me with kitchenware! But sadly, it doesn’t look like they have any remote job opportunities and they don’t have any offices here in Iowa ?- I’ll just have to buy a new piece every so often!
So, if you’re in the market for new cookware for your kitchen, check out the Calphalon brand and see if any of their items will work for you! You won’t regret it!
Pros:
- Heavy duty material
- Non-stick without the use of Teflon
- Aesthetically pleasing
- Superior build quality
Cons:
- The upfront cost (but it’s worth it in the long run)
- The handle on the lid becomes hot after being on the pot for too long. The handle closer to the pot gets hot (be careful and always use a dry oven mitt when handling)
-TID
